You can fly all ships from all factions.Notable differences from EO I can think of: I'm doing Story Missions on an emulator as I write this (see below). I've been playing Echoes since launch day (as a subscriber/Omega). I've been playing EO off and on since launch, though not much since I left null in around 2011. I suspect if I had got into Faction warfare I would have had even more use for frigate hulls, flying big stuff in most faction warfare sites is a liability.Įchoes isn't quite the same as EO, though there are a lot of similarities (for obvious reasons). Even with 30-50 million skill point characters at my disposal sometimes a stack of 10 Merlins was more useful to me than spending the same amount of money on something cruiser sized. There are frigates that can do level 4 missions (Hawk), Solo pvp, low end wormhole sites and if you expand your horizons to destroyer hulls tech 3 tactical destroyers combine frigate like handling with even more oomph.Įven though when I played Eve my 2 main characters could both fly capital ships and almost every subcapital ship in the game between them I never stopped having a ton of tech 1 and 2 frigates in my hangar for cheap pvp, scanning, tackling, exploring the nullsec areas around our wormhole exits, ratting etc. There are a lot of things you can do with only frigate class ships, but not much more you can do with that hull design as there is no tech 2 version (gallente assault frigates are based on a different hull). The Tristan is optimised as a drone frigate and would be good at both level 2 missions and faction warfare missions and packs a surprising punch in pvp
